I signed up for the Bay Bridge 10k race again this year.
I thought it was supposed to be going to an every-two-year schedule, but hopefully they’ll have this again this year. It was a lot of fun last year
I’ve been running a few nights a week and it isn’t going too badly as long as I use my inhaler.
My asthma is aggravated by both the cold dry air and my allergies. I’m now on Flonase for the allergies, but still need the inhaler in order to run.
Saturday we’re going to see Children of Men with recently engaged Jon and Sarah
Should be an awesome weekend!

Getting back into running is going slower than I expected. Last year I was recovering from knee surgery but by this time I was already up to more mileage than I am now. I’m taking it a little easier to try to prevent the ITB problems that plagued me after the half marathon last year. Slow and steady wins the race. Well not actually - the fastest runner wins the race, but metaphorically speaking slow and steady is generally the winning combination.
We had a foot of snow this past weekend, so I caught up on some DVDs I had been meaning to watch and was quite pleasantly surprised by Butterfly Effect. Admittedly I had low expectaions, but it was a pretty good movie.
Later this month Night Watch will be playing at a couple of the local independant cinemas. I hope it does well enough that they bring the rest of the trilogy over.
Less than 4 weeks until the Shamrock 5k race. I really want to beat my last year’s time so I’ve got a lot of work to do before then. Looks like we need a montage. “Even Rocky had a montage!”

Last week I started running again. I’m starting off slowly - letting my lungs and my knees adapt to it. I’m not fond of the cold but it’s been an unusually mild January so it hasn’t been too bad.
Friday night is the Chinese New Year party at Nation. Should be fun - I haven’t been there in months.
This past weekend I saw Hoodwinked and really enjoyed it. A fun clever and new look at the Litte Red Riding Hood story.

I’m working this weekend. And next weekend.
Only ran twice this past week, so I plan to kick it up a notch today through the 14th, so I can at least finish the Boordy 5k without too much pain. I think the wine waiting at the finish line will be a good motivational reward
I finished reading the latest Harry Potter book. It was good but now the wait for the last book will seem really long.
As far as movies go, the most recent movies I’ve seen are Fantastic Four, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Both were very enjoyable, but I especially liked C&C Factory - Depp was excellent as Willy Wonka.
Cheers!
Rob.
