There are full pics up here from last night’s ARS meet. It was a lot of fun. The venue changed somewhat as we originally planned to go to the RFD, but one of us was underage so we went to the Hooters across the street for dinner instead, and then went to the chophouse to hang out in the lounge and conversate.
Made for a fun evening, but I didn’t get home until after 2, so I only got 5 hours sleep. I’m gonna sleep well tonight!

Worked the weekend rather than doing anything fun and exciting. I did manage to run 4 miles Saturday evening. I had planned to get some more miles in last night, but work had other plans for me. If I have time tonight I’ll likely do 2 or 4 miles, but it looks like it may be in the morning. I definitely need to log a few more miles before Sunday evening’s race at Boordy vineyards. I’m really looking forward to that. My friend Sashi from Ciena is supposed to run it with me, but I imagine he’ll be running it faster than I will. My knee is slowly recovering from May but still if I pick up the pace I start to really feel it. I keep trying to get Sid to run a race with me but he’s afraid I’ll beat him ;-) He’s actually quite a bit faster than me but prefers shorter sprinting events.
I’ve been playing Meteos on the DS and Wipeout Pure on the PSP lately as there haven’t been any good console games lately. I’m really looking forward to the Katamari Damacy sequel, and the Elder Scrolls game on the XBOX 360 both this fall.
In other news I just heard the Melissa Etheridge cover of Tom Petty’s song Refugee, and it’s really quite good.

I ran 2 miles last night in 20 minutes, but had to walk some. I probably should have tried to slow the pace but it’s really hard to keep a slow pace. The knee strap really helps the knee, but I still need to soak it in cold water and/or ice it after a run.

I haven’t been to the gym yet this week after straining my back over the weekend, so it’s been a pretty lazy week. While I was in Ottawa I had gotten up to 4 miles, so I’m gradually getting back into it. I’m also focusing on form to try and prevent so many injuries.

I’ve been working on the home network this week - had to replace some hardware in my main PC. I reconfigured my server with more storage to use for backups and file transfers.

Still waiting for FIOS to be available in my area :-( Someday….

Here we are at the vmware seminar.

This is sooo much fun….
At least we get a copy of vmware out of it.
